Closets & Organized Storage magazine has announced the launch of its 2027 Top Shelf Design Awards, set to open for submissions on November 9. The competition, sponsored by Rev-A-Shelf, will accept entries through February 5, 2027, recognizing innovative designs in closets, home offices, garages, wine rooms, and specialty spaces.

Last year’s awards included an honorable mention for Alisa Randol of PLC Closets, whose work for the Youngquist Residence was highlighted. The top entries will be featured in Closets & Organized Storage magazine and its weekly newsletter.

Submissions require a detailed project description, blueprints, and at least three high-resolution photos—no AI-generated images are accepted. Each entry costs a $45 fee. Winning projects earn a plaque, a $50 gift card, and eligibility for the $500 Best of Show prize. The awards ceremony will take place on May 19, 2027, during the Closets Conference & Expo in Dallas, Texas.

The competition spans multiple categories, including garage spaces, which are divided into two groups: under 600 square feet and over 600 square feet. Home offices are also divided into two groups: under 150 square feet and over 150 square feet. Additionally, closets are categorized by material and size, including laminate, wood, and reach-in styles. Specialty categories cover craft rooms, pantries, laundry areas, mudrooms, and wine cellars.

Submissions open on November 9 at woodworkingnetwork.com/top-shelf. The event is organized under CCI Media, publisher of Closets & Organized Storage and other trade publications. Michaelle Bradford, editor of the magazine, oversees the competition with two decades of experience in woodworking and design media.
