Austin opens boutique hotel amid historic oaks
Austin’s hospitality scene may get a boost with The Inn at Green Pastures boutique hotel opening amid historic oaks.

Austin’s Bouldin Creek neighborhood has a new boutique hotel, The Inn at Green Pastures, which adds to the city’s hospitality scene. The hotel is situated on the historic Green Pastures estate, where a farmhouse was first built in 1895 and later became a restaurant and gathering place in 1946.
The Inn at Green Pastures is the second stage of a master plan led by architecture and interiors firm Clayton Korte. The hotel features 63 guest rooms, an all-day restaurant and bar, lounge, fitness centre, private pool, and event spaces, all within a five-acre estate shaded by over 220 heritage oak trees.
Hotel Design and Layout
The three-storey, L-shaped building is designed to preserve the natural surroundings, with parking tucked below ground to maintain the focus on the gardens and mature trees. Large roof overhangs made from steel and wood protect the building from the intense afternoon sun, while the trees provide shade and cooling throughout the property.
The structure rests beneath a broad oak canopy, and more than 200 protected trees have been incorporated into the hotel’s identity, reinforcing the sense of place.
West-facing guest areas open onto a private pool courtyard, creating outdoor spaces with views across the grounds and providing a welcome break from the nearby city streets. Inside, the interiors are inspired by the colors of the surrounding area, with deep forest greens and rich browns throughout the hotel.
Inside, Clayton Korte layered contemporary floral wallcoverings with crisp pinstripe upholstery, embroidered drapery, and custom white-oak millwork, while plush seating and clean architectural lines create a refined yet welcoming ambience; the exterior’s durable steel-and-wood overhangs further echo the historic environment.
Amenities and Services
The hotel’s all-day restaurant and bar, Henry’s, serves both hotel guests and locals, offering a distinctive atmosphere that feels polished while remaining welcoming. The lounge, bar, and casual dining spaces overlook the pool courtyard, making them natural gathering places throughout the day.
Henry’s interior continues this dialogue, pairing forest-green tones with the same floral wallcoverings and tailored pinstripe furnishings, which together craft a polished yet accessible setting for both guests and neighborhood patrons.
Beyond its accommodation, The Inn at Green Pastures has been designed as a destination for celebrations, events, and everyday escapes. Dedicated event spaces sit alongside the lounge, restaurant, fitness centre, and pool, giving guests a variety of places to gather during their stay.
Guest rooms benefit from high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling windows that flood the spaces with natural light, while rich hardwood flooring, marble sinks, and deep bathtubs extend the raised material palette throughout the boutique experience.
Preserving History and Natural Beauty
The hotel opened its doors in December 2025, marking the latest chapter in a legacy that began with the 1895 farmhouse and the 1946 restaurant.
Resident peacocks continue to roam the estate, adding another reminder of the property’s long history. Combined with the extensive oak canopy and landscaped grounds, the setting offers an experience that feels remarkably peaceful despite being only blocks from Austin’s cultural and shopping districts.
